This Wednesday Night, Zap2it's Live Chat is Where It's At

Hello my dear friends -

As I mentioned in my last post, there are no new Island adventures for us to enjoy this week; instead, there's a clip show entitled "The Story of the Oceanic Six."

Therefore, I encourage you to join me for a live chat with Zap2it's hilariously awesome Ryan McGee on Wednesday night from 8:30 - 10 EST. We'll be talking about all things Lost, answering questions, tossing around ideas, and maybe even sharing a (virtual) DHARMA beer.

The good news is that if you want to give your take (or get ours) about what in the Holy Secret Garlic Mayo is going on this season, you don't have to do anything except remain in the comfort of your own home and click over to this site. If you scroll down on that page a bit, you'll see the event window where everything will go down. (And if you click here, you can replay the chat Ryan hosted last month with my friend and fellow blogger JOpinionated. It will give you a good idea of what to expect.)

I hope you can make it, it should be a blast!

And remember, because of the episode break and my travel schedule, I'll be posting my "Some Like it Hoth" recap late, hopefully by Friday morning, but definitely by next Tuesday.

I can't wait until tomorrow night! You guys are GOLD! I honestly can't pick a favorite...so, I'll have TWO favorites.

Hey,

I have to go out tonight so I won't be able to watch your chat live :( I really want to see it and I was wondering if the video will be put up on your site tomorrow so people who can't watch it tonight will be able to watch it tomorrow. By the way I love your recaps of LOST and hopefully you can answer my question. Thank you.

Amanda - Yes, there should be a "replay" of the chat available at the same link above at some point after it's finished. I don't think I can embed it on my own site, though.

Good luck Erika! I'm doing a podcast with Vozz and The ODI tonight so'll I'll miss the live chat, but I hope to catch a replay.

I'm going to have to catch the replay. It's too late for me and I'm in Hawaii!

why did you ruin smolesiuk, you could have just talked to him first, and maybe worked something out rather than ruin a better presentation of Lost. You two could have worked together. But noooo you have to freak out. You look like one of those crazy woman too.

Hmm... a little late to the party?

I guess you haven't read much about the situation. I did contact Sean privately before I did anything else, and he didn't want to cooperate. After other writers got involved because they found out that he had been taking their content word-for-word since the end of Season Four, suddenly Sean had a change of heart and now he IS working with us on a resolution to this mess.

We are not trying to stop him from making any future videos, so I'm not exactly sure how anyone "ruined" Sean. We simply want our copyrighted content out of his old videos. I don't consider that "freaking out" in the slightest.

Ryan McGee: Hey everyone, and welcome to tonight's chat. We're happy to be joined by freelance writer and Lost expert, Erika Olson. We'll be taking your questions for roughly 90 minutes, concluding with the recap special airing instead of a new episode.
8:28
Ryan McGee: Just so everyone knows, comments have to be pre-approved. So if you don't see yours, don't freak out. I can't keep up with every comment, though I'll try my best.
8:28
Ryan McGee: Just so everyone has it up front, here's a link for Erika's suh-weet blog.

Hmm... I think that was some time in 2005... Season Two.
8:31
Erika: My very first recap was for episode nine, Sayid's first flashback, "Solitary."
8:32
Ryan McGee: For me, it was even earlier: I think "Walkabout" was the ep that made me fall head over heels.
8:32
Ryan McGee: But I didn't start recapping on my own til Season 3.
8:32
Ryan McGee: OK, let's get to some reader questions!
8:32
[Comment From Galen]
With 4 episodes left I assume we will get a Faraday and maybe a Juliet ep. Who else might we see? Richard, Horace, Charles Widmore, Walt?
8:32
Erika: Oh, yeah... "Walkabout" was for sure the episode that got me hooked, but I didn't start devoting like 14 hours a week to my blog until Season 2. : )
8:33
Ryan McGee: Galen, I think it's three eps, four hours left. I can confirm we'll see at least two of those people featured in eps to come.

[Comment From tanzio]
Hi Ryan and Erika! Erika, I would love to know how long it takes you to come up with the lyrics that you post in your blog.
8:33
Erika: @Galen - I'm going to be really annoyed if we don't learn more about Jacob... can I get a Jacob flashback, please?
8:34
Ryan McGee: Yea, love the lyrics as dividers in the comments myself. They send me to my iTunes.
8:34
Erika: @tanzio - It's funny you should ask... finding the lyrics is actually the hardest part of the post for me. Seriously. My husband hates it too, as I'm always bugging him with questions like, "So, what would be good lyrics for Ben and Locke bickering?" All of the heavy metal lyrics come from him!
8:35
[Comment From Outbck844]
Let's get to what lies in the shadow of the statue?
8:35
[Comment From A-Rob]
Erika, what lies in the shadow of the statue?
8:35
Erika: @Patty - Hello! ; )
8:35
Ryan McGee: A few people wanna know about that! So let's do a poll while Erika composes her answer.
8:36
What lies in the shadow of the statue?
Jughead
( 5% )
The Temple
( 20% )
Jacob
( 5% )
The Island's original inhabitants
( 2% )
Something else entirely
( 67% )

8:36
Erika: Good Lord, I have no idea what lies in the shadow of the statue... but I'm hoping it ends up being a joke answer... kind of like the whole snowman question. No one will be expecting it because it sounds like such a serious question, you know?
8:37
Ryan McGee: A lot of people on our blog theorize the Shadow Folk are a third party, neither Ben nor Widmore-run.
8:37
[Comment From Roland]
I\m thinking that Ilana's team are the Children of DHARMA - sent off-Island by their parents to avoid the Purge. There are SO many "children" on the show already - and the Third Gen - Aaron, JiYeong, Charlie etc in reserve
8:37
Erika: PS - I couldn't keep up with everyone who joined... but thanks to all of you for coming to chat with us! (And I thought I was the fastest typer in the world...)
8:37
[Comment From BrandonB]
Erika, who do you think Bram and company are working for?
8:37
[Comment From Stacy]
Who do the shadow people work for?
8:38
Erika: I definitely think Bram and Ilana are part of the new Dharma, there's no question in my mind. Though I know not everyone feels the same...
8:38
Ryan McGee: Dharma II: Electric Boogaloo!
8:38
Erika: It would tie in the Comic-Con booth perfectly... and how else would Bram be able to tell Miles about his father? His father... who was IN DHARMA.
8:39
Ryan McGee: To me, the rebirth of Dharma gets back to its initial purpose. Scientific, or more sinister?
8:39
Ryan McGee: The all-black jumpsuits for those working on the Swan and those coming from Ann Arbor seem to be a clue about the "dark" forces on the island from Locke's backgammon game.
8:39
Erika: I think they're just a bunch of hippies from Ann Arbor. Anyone who ever spent any time in A2 is a hippie (myself included).
8:39
Ryan McGee: But I guess the answer will lie in the metal box.
8:39
What's in the metal box?
A ton of weapons
( 51% )
Something to set off or defuse Jughead
( 18% )
A body
( 8% )
What lies in the shadow of the statue
( 2% )
108 Hot Pockets in cold storage
( 14% )
Other (List below!)
( 6% )

8:40
[Comment From Jen B]
Hi Erika! Do you think that if your main man Locke ever tried to leave the island (via the FDW or a more traditional means), he would die once he gets back to the "real" world?
8:40
Ryan McGee: Good question, Jen!
8:40
Ryan McGee: I'll let Erika voice her thoughts before chiming in with mine.
8:40
Erika: I think the all-black jumpsuits were designed simply to go better with Faraday's tie... come on!
8:40
[Comment From DocArzt]
Hey folks.
8:41
[Comment From Jennie]
I definitley think the "Childeren of Dharma" sounds plausible.
8:41
[Comment From Roland]
How cool would it be if CW's body is in the metal crate - and he gets resurrected like Locke?
8:41
[Comment From Stacy]
Sinister, I think
8:41
[Comment From JOpinionated]
good point
8:41
[Comment From Galen]
I think the dead lie in the shadow of the statue. That's why Bram had knowledge of Miles' ability.
8:41
[Comment From Roland]
Black Swan event = something VERY rare
8:41
Erika: @Jen B - I think it is impossible for Locke to die at this point. Obviously Dead is NOT Dead. But I sincerely hope he never leaves because I don't think the Island would like that very much. Actually, I don't think the Island would LET him leave... so there you go. He can't die.
8:42
[Comment From A-Rob]
sometimes a metal box protected by a group of shadow people just be a metal box protected by a group of shadow people
8:42
[Comment From Roland]
Hey Jon! Welcome!
8:42
[Comment From Galen]
Yeah Ryan I think the black jumpsuits being an evil symbol is too contrived even by Lost standards!
8:42
Ryan McGee: Erika: any thoughts on Locke being inside the metal box, or is he an anomoly in the Island's history?
8:43
[Comment From clueless1der]
Erika, but do you think he's the same Locke that he was before? Not a ghost... or anything like that... (sorry if this has been mentioned, I just got here !)
8:43
[Comment From BenIsAwesome]
Is Locke truly flesh and blood?
8:43
[Comment From RoseRed2318]
I think the black suits were just to make Farraday look extra hot. Love me some sexy scientist.
8:43
Erika: @Ryan - Wait a second... how can Locke possibly be in the metal box?!?!
8:44
Erika: Regarding the questions about whether or not Locke is the same as he was before... this is hard for me to answer without my bias coming in. I really, really, REALLY hope he is, so I don't think I can let myself believe otherwise.
8:45
Ryan McGee: @Erika: just a crazy thought I had this morning, after realizing that we only know about Locke's presence thanks to Ilana. So maybe that Locke we've been following is essentially him, but not exactly. And Locke's inside, along with some offerings for Anubis. Was a whacky thought, but I thought it was interesting enough.
8:45
Erika: Locke is acting much more at peace with himself and magically seems to know a lot of answers about the Island... like how to find Smokey and whatnot. So something is definitely different... but I'm not willing to say that he's no longer flesh and blood.
8:45
Ryan McGee: Especially since "Dead is Dead" went out of its way to scream "LOCKE ISN'T QUITE RIGHT"
8:45
Ryan McGee: But it's just a theory. I wouldnt defend it to the death :)
8:45
[Comment From Topoftheinning23]
I've also been wondering if it's "Locke in a Box," Erika, with the Locke we're seeing being more like Chrirstian.
8:45
[Comment From Roland]
No way that St John is truly flesh and blood any more. The Island speaks through him now
8:45
[Comment From JimD aka Lost Fan]
I'm rewatching the series from the beginning. I think smokie is John since Season 1.
8:45
Erika: @Ryan - OK, you scared me there with all that Locke In a Box talk. I will have none of it!
8:46
[Comment From David]
like a jack-in the-box but instead a locke-in-the-box
8:46
Ryan McGee: If it helps, Erika, Terry's still way alive for you. Heh.
8:46
[Comment From AnaMarie]
How do you think Desomd and Penny fit into the rest of the series?
8:46
Erika: @JimD - Well, then who was Smokey when he attacked Danielle's people? Locke wasn't around then... nor was Christian...
8:46
Ryan McGee: Ah, Ana Marie. You're talkin' muh peeps.
8:46
Erika: @AnaMarie - I still think Desmond will hold the key to changing some critical event.
8:46
Ryan McGee: Eloise said the Island wasn't done with Des. So, we thinking he's back on the Island by the end of the Season, Erika?
8:47
Erika: And my brother is convinced that their love story will end in tragedy.
8:47
Will Des end up on the island before the end of Season 5?
Yes
( 77% )
No
( 16% )
Bloop
( 7% )

8:47
[Comment From DocArzt]
The timing of Locke's reappearances in Dead is Dead were VERY curious...
8:47
Erika: If Des is not back on the Island by the end of this season, Darlton will have a protest on their hands. He's tied for my second favorite character (with Faraday).
8:47
[Comment From JOpinionated]
is what is inside that metal crate related to the secret item that Ben retrieved from his hotel room before getting on Ajira 316?
8:47
[Comment From Spenzer]
Maybe it's a magic box :D
8:47
[Comment From BenIsAwesome]
Step 1 ... cut a hole in the box
8:47
[Comment From Abby]
That was my thought e, that Locke is different only in the sense that he has let go of his self-doubt. A good rebirth.
8:48
Erika: @JOpinionated - I was JUST thinking about that mystery case Ben pulled from the vent earlier today (yes I have no life). Still no idea what that could be... except maybe the gun he pulled on Des and Penny? But I don't think so.
8:48
Ryan McGee: Agreed, Erika. Love me the Des, though I've been missing him something fierce this season. Which, hey, leads me to another poll!
8:48
Which character has gotten the shaft the most thing season, either story or screentime-wise?
Ben
( 0% )
Des
( 34% )
Juliet
( 8% )
Sun
( 6% )
Rose/Bernad
( 52% )
Frogurt
( 0% )

8:49
[Comment From Jalbanese91]
Desmond is the variable in my opinion
8:49
[Comment From Nick]
Yes, I am Erika's brother and I am convinced of that. : )
8:49
[Comment From Nussy]
Penny is the constant, Desmond is the variable?
8:49
Ryan McGee: I think time is the constant,Desmond is the variable.
8:49
[Comment From DocArzt]
It wouldn't be a great love story without a tragedy.
8:50
Ryan McGee: Doc: my soon-to-be-torrid affair with Elizabeth Mitchell will prove you wrong, my friend. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to run away from Jo who is currently coming to kill me marina style.
8:50
[Comment From AnaMarie]
So it's safe to say Des will be the one to "change things for the losties? Good or bad?
8:50
Erika: @DocArzt - First off, hello! Secondly, I think Locke's reappearances while Smokey was coming/going were MEANT to make us think he may be Smokey.
8:51
Ryan McGee: I think that Des has to be the one who changes things. They set him up in Ep 1 this season as the only way to break the time loop, for good or bad. Personally, I see him teaming up with Widmore after the attack. Crazier things have happened.
8:51
[Comment From zapdsL]
There's never enough Desmond.
8:51
Erika: @AnaMarie - I personally think Des will change things as well.
8:51
[Comment From Stacy]
Des is so The vairable!
8:51
[Comment From Jenette]
Will we see Vincent again? Whatever happened to poor vincent?
8:51
Erika: And I agree that there is never enough Desmond, brotha!
8:52
Ryan McGee: Jenette: I think we're coming close to seeing Vincent again. If anything, we're finally about to see the other side of the scene from "The Little Prince" in which Locke and CO. get shot at.
8:52
Erika: I am more upset about the lack of Vincent this season than the lack of Rose and Bernard... for real.
8:52
[Comment From Galen]
Vincent is with Richard!
8:52
Erika: I mean, Vincent could be the key to this show -- he knows and has seen LOTS of stuff go down!
8:52
Erika: Vincent is totally a spy for Richard -- I love it.
8:52
Ryan McGee: His abandoned leash haunts my dreams. Along with Bai Ling.
8:53
[Comment From Carrie from Ann Arbor]
@Ryan if Des teams up with Widmore, W better finally accept him to marry Penny!
8:53
[Comment From Roland]
Vincent is an Agent of The Island
8:53
[Comment From CuInAnotherLifeBrother]
so true, I miss him
8:53
[Comment From Denise]
Good Evening to all. I think Des is def A key if not THE key player in this show. He has to be the vcariable. Why else would Faraday go to him and tell him that he can break the rules.
8:53
[Comment From pgappmayer]
I think Vincent is with Rose And Bernard.
8:53
[Comment From Nussy]
Rose is the smoke monster.
8:53
Ryan McGee: Nussy: FTW.
8:53
[Comment From JOpinionated]
is this a spoiler-free chat? I may have some info about Vincent...
8:53
Erika: AHHHH, I don't want to know!
8:53
Ryan McGee: Jo: yup, spoiler-free!
8:53
[Comment From Carrie from Ann Arbor]
@Ryan I think you're right, because I was wondering where all the guns were going to come from for the other canoe and it seems like Ilana had enough for that
8:53
[Comment From Jody]
Vincent is with Claire
8:53
[Comment From Stacy]
lol
8:54
[Comment From AnaMarie]
Vincent it chillin with smokey, learning the ropes.
8:54
Erika: Also, to be honest Jo, I think I know the same thing you do if it was on the official podcast. : )
8:54
[Comment From Clara]
I def. agree that Des is the variable, and will be instrumental in the way things turn out.. ( btw... hello everyone)
8:54
[Comment From GBuc]
Vincent = Richard! LOL
8:54
[Comment From Brian-Cincinnati]
what mystery will we be left wondering when everything's said and done after season 6?
8:54
Ryan McGee: Ooooh, me likey Brian's question. Would love to hear thoughts on this from everyone.
8:54
Erika: Hmm, that's a hard one, Brian. They've definitely already said that they're not tying up ALL of the mysteries.
8:55
[Comment From Jenette]
Hopefully all will be answered by the end!
8:55
[Comment From kissmyapocalypse]
i think we won't know how exactly the island came to be so special... IT JUST IS
8:55
Ryan McGee: kissmy: good call. I hope the Island's like Ledger's Joker that way. Some places are just special.
8:55
[Comment From AnaMarie]
Walt and his powers. Just don't see how the can fit that in now. Which is a shame.
8:55
[Comment From BrandonB]
Can't speak for anyone else, but for me the mystery will be "What the heck am I going to obsess about now?"
8:55
[Comment From Spenzer]
Well apparently the Libby-Situation will never be resolved ... that's kind of a bummer
8:55
[Comment From Jen B]
I don't think we'll ever know who/what Smokey is.
8:55
[Comment From Galen]
The numbers. I don't think we will ever learn their full significance.
8:55
Erika: I agree with kissmyapocalypse... plus Hawking already kind of explained that the Island is on a special "hot spot" on the earth.. I think that's as much as we're going to get.
8:56
Ryan McGee: Galen: a while back Jeff Jensen at EW talked about benign things taking on extreme importance after the fact. I wonder if his prediction will come true. Like, what if The Numbers only become THE NUMBERS post-Incident?
8:56
[Comment From clueless1der]
I think if they tied up all the mysteries, they would send all us Lostgeek theorists into therapy. We have to have SOMETHING to chew over!
8:57
Erika: I'm not entirely sure if we'll ever learn if there was a specific reason that all of the 815ers were on that flight... it might have just been fate.
8:57
Ryan McGee: I am looking up Doc's link to the GREAT JJ Abrams article in Wired about Lost and mystery...one sec...
8:57
Ryan McGee: http://www.docarzt.com/lost/lost-news/jj-abrams-takes-over-wired-disses-spoilers/
8:57
Ryan McGee: Everyone should read that article. It's genius and awesome and I lurve it.
8:58
[Comment From JOpinionated]
I wonder if they'll EVER let us in on Ben's breakfast on the beach conversation with Kate from Season 3
8:58
[Comment From Clara]
well probably be left wondering about the meaning/workings of time
8:58
[Comment From tanzio]
I love that I have absolutely no idea what is coming - that I can't even guess at the mysteries that we will be left with
8:58
Erika: Are there spoilers in that article?
8:58
Ryan McGee: It's JJ talking about mystery. and why people should avoid spoilers.
8:58
[Comment From Galen]
Will we ever find out the Island's name?
8:58
Ryan McGee: "Craphole Island". Shannon named it in Season 1.
8:59
[Comment From Bonnie]
I don't think we'll learn the whole story about Richard Alpert.
8:59
[Comment From Guest]
Will we ever know who the heck Richard is? Or what he is?
8:59
Ryan McGee: I like people's theory that Richard Alpert=RA, the Egyptian sun god. Not because I necessarily agree but I think that's a damn clever catch.
8:59
[Comment From CuInAnotherLifeBrother]
why do you think Richard cut his hair? When he met young Ben the first time it was long and now it is short
9:00
Ryan McGee: You know, that's probably my most annoying continuity error. For some reason, him looking like Joshua Tree-era Bono for one ep bugs the hell out of me.
9:00
Erika: Regarding Jo's comment about Kate's beach breakfast with Ben... I actually think they WILL fill in that gap. Similarly, I read on some board that there is a scene in season one where Kate and Jack have on white shirts (never shown before or again), and Jack has bandages on his knuckles, for no apparent reason. I've never gotten around to rewatching it, but it's always bugged me whether or not that scene was some sort of huge clue. Now watch, I'm getting it wrong and all of you guys are going to go look for it and not be able to find that scene... (sorry in advance)
9:00
[Comment From Shaggysteve]
that's probably why we haven't seen the front of the statue...it is Richard
9:00
Ryan McGee: Hey everyone, the special's starting!
9:01
Ryan McGee: We can chat along with that while fielding more questions.
9:01
[Comment From sherylm]
What I want to know is why Desmond's vision of Claire and Aaron on the helicopter didn't work out...
9:01
Erika: I am bugged by Richard's lapse of clean-cut hair in that one scene, too.
9:01
Ryan McGee: SherylM: I blame Eloise.
9:01
Ryan McGee: I think we know so little about her motives that she fed Des a story to suit her own purpose.
9:01
[Comment From RoseRed2318]
@shaggysteve - HA! cool thought
9:01
[Comment From JOpinionated]
Sherylm - me too!
9:02
[Comment From Bob]
Most have theorized that one cannot exist with a future/former self. What do you think about Myles and the fact that he is with his baby self?
9:02
Erika: Sherlym - There's still a chance it might, right? If Aaron somehow comes back to the Island, Claire's still alive, and then they leave?
9:02
Erika: Bob - I think that if Miles attempts to make physical contact with his baby self it's going to get ugly.
9:03
Ryan McGee: I think that so long as he doesn't touch himself, everything should be groovy. But we may be taking the multiple bunny video from Comic Con a bit too seriously.
9:03
Best pick to do the voiceovers for tonight's recap special?
Ben Linus
( 37% )
Charles Widmore
( 10% )
Juliet Burke
( 10% )
Sean Connery
( 6% )
Morgan Freeman
( 22% )
Christopher Walken
( 16% )

9:03
Erika: But Miles can stare at his baby self from afar and that's just fine, apparently.
9:03
[Comment From Nussy]
Erika I thought Richard's long hair was a prop
9:03
[Comment From kissmyapocalypse]
do we have official confirmation that ellie = eloise or is that just prevailing theory?
9:03
Erika: Nussy - Just like good ol' Zeke's beard? Perhaps!
9:03
Erika: I don't think we have official official confirmation about Ellie and Eloise being one in the same...
9:03
Ryan McGee: kiss: never confirmed in show, but c'mon, has to be, right? I just wanna know where she was when Charles ordered Ben to kill Danielle.
9:04
[Comment From lizziebelle]
OK, they're saying Widmore staged the fake crash
9:04
Erika: I agree with Ryan. It HAS to be or else that is the lamest stunt ever pulled.
9:04
Ryan McGee: Man, OK, Guess that's that, then. I know a lot of people tried to figure out if it was Widmore or not after "Hoth" but I guess ABC just told us it was 100% Widmore.
9:04
[Comment From JOpinionated]
I still don't believe that Claire is alive, e!
9:05
Ryan McGee: Can anyone verify for me if this recap is Darlton approved, or ABD promo monkey approved?
9:05
[Comment From Jenette]
Why did Ben let Kate and Sayid off the island and the end of last season if they weren't supposed to leave to begin with!
9:05
Erika: JO - I don't think so either... I'm kind of annoyed with that whole storyline, to be honest.
9:06
Ryan McGee: Jenette: that's the big question, ain't it? Again, I think it ties back to Eloise. She's the third party slipping in while Ben and Charles were busy having their "whose Island $%^& is bigger" contest for a few decades.
9:06
Erika: Jenette - I think at that point, Ben knew everything had gone to hell and he was going to have to turn the donkey wheel. So it didn't matter anymore.
9:06
[Comment From BrandonB]
Are the recaps canon? I seem to recall hearing that they aren't.
9:06
Ryan McGee: Not sure, Brandon, but it seems weak sauce if Darlton just let ABC spit out things like "Widmore staged the crash" without approving it.
9:07
[Comment From Galen]
Ryan has season 5 changed your cabin christian theory? Can you provide a link to when you first developed said theory? Can't find it.
9:07
Erika: I have a feeling Darlton didn't approve or have anything to do with this recap... unless they appear on it. They've said before that they don't even know what's being written in the "enhanced" episode pop-ups, which I agree, seems strange.
9:07
Ryan McGee: It hasn't, but but hasn't confirmed it either. (Short version: Cabin Christian pulled a long con on everyone for the "Army of the Dark" in order to remove Locke and Ben and simultaneously separate Aaron and Claire.)
9:07
[Comment From kissmyapocalypse]
who is doing the voice over? i don't recognize the voice

What do you guys think is happening in the Outside World, now that The Six have disappeared again?

Erika and Ryan...do you think that the return to the Island was as 'epic' as when they returned to the mainland?
9:10
Erika: Dreyesbo - No. When they came home, I cried. There's No Place Like Home Part 1 is in my top 5 favorite episodes. When they returned it was definitely cool, but nowhere near AS cool.
9:10
Ryan McGee: Oh Lord no. It wasn't epic. I am not sure I even remotely understand the mechanics behind it. But I think what's important to understand now is someone snuck the Shadow People and The Big Metal Mystery Box onboard using the 06 to sneak in.
9:10
Ryan McGee: Erika brings up a good topic: TEARS! I wept like a girl when Des reached Penny on the phone. What are some of your tear-filled moments, readers?
9:11

This show gives me a headache in the best possible way :)

am I the only one who isn't convinced that there is a third faction; that the 'shadow' people are subsets or employees of ben and widmore?

@JO I would be annoyed if they turned out to be working for either Ben or Widmore. Their feud is so season 4.
9:14
[Comment From cat]
Erica, speaking of Sun, why do you think she isn't with the rest of the oceanic 6?
9:15
Ryan McGee: Sun not going back: someone or something decided to put people in certain times in order to perform certain acts. My gripe/frustration is that Ben, Charles, and Eloise lie as easy as the breathe. So knowing who wants whom where and why is baffling.
9:15
Erika: WAIT - I forget my #1 all-time tearjerker moment... when Vincent started swimming out to Waaaalt on the raft at the end of Season One. Dammit, I'm crying again now just thinking about it.
9:15
Ryan McGee: I would say this: someone sure as heck knew a plane would crash on Hydra island at some point in the near future.
9:15

[Comment From BenIsAwesome]
They absolutely have to address why Sun is not in the 70's.
9:16
Erika: Cat - I really can't figure out why Sun isn't with the rest... the cynical side of me says, "So that the Sun-Jin reunion can be more powerful if it takes a long time for them to find each other again"...
9:16

9:17
Ryan McGee: Erika: you're my hero.
9:18
[Comment From A-Rob]
could they have drugged Walt and brought him back?
9:18
Ryan McGee: Damn. Hope not. That would be ice cold.
9:18
Diana: I would have voted for "Sawyer and his stubble" if that were an option.
9:18
Ryan McGee: I would put my odds on seeing Walt on the show again at like, 3-1. Seeing him on the Island for real (not as a vision)? Maybe 100-1.
9:18
[Comment From Justin]
E & R - Who do you think the remains of Adam and Eve are?
9:19
Ryan McGee: I'm angling towards Sawyer and Juliet now. I can't see either making it off the show alive, they're living on borrowed time, have no place off the Island anymore, and could both sacrifice themselves for others.
9:20
Ryan McGee: But I am open to your thoughts. Start sending them in!
9:20
[Comment From Mair]
I'm with Diana on the stubble
9:20
[Comment From Guest]
I think adam and Eve are Jack and Kate. Jack still has the black and white stones as far as we know.
9:20
[Comment From Shaggysteve]
Adam & Eve are Rose & Bernard
9:20
Erika: I have no strong feelings about who Adam and Eve are, but I have a feeling it will be two of the main characters that have been around since Season One. Kate/Jack, Sawyer/Kate or Rose/Bernard.
9:20

9:21
[Comment From Jennie]
Rose and Bernard.
9:21
Diana: I still think it's the DeGroots. If they made it to the island they died soon after and the DI ran without them.
9:21
[Comment From triangulatedsignal]
i vote degroots too
9:21
[Comment From Nancy]
If it's Rose and Bernard - does that fit into the black / white theme? I'm serious...
9:21
Erika: The thing is that Jack said the bodies looked like they'd been there 40 or 50 years if I'm remembering correctly. And guess what 50 years before 2004 was? 1954. Which we know some of the Losties traveled back to... so maybe it IS Rose and Bernard. That would be kind of lame, though.
9:22
Ryan McGee: I guess we should all be on the lookout for the two stones Jack liberated from them in the future.
9:22
[Comment From Steff]
E - what are your thoughts about Faraday returning on the sub the last episode?
9:22
Erika: Steff - My thoughts are, "ABOUT DAMN TIME!"
9:22
Erika: Seriously, I've been missing him.
9:22
Diana: Erika - I'm with you.
9:22
Ryan McGee: What freaked me out? How calm and together he was.
9:22
Erika: I think he's been working with Dharma and will now go on to deal with the Orchid like we saw at the beginning of the season.
9:23
Erika: And despite everything he's said, I think he IS trying to change the course of events... in order to save his girl Charlotte.
9:23
Ryan McGee: Erika: do you think he left on the first sub after talking to lil' Char to infilitrate the DI and learn how to save her?
9:23
Ryan McGee: Ah. You just answered my question.
9:23
Erika: I read your mind like Smokey.
9:24
Ryan McGee: My take is the first scene of the season hasnt happened yet for the Faraday that got off the Sub. Also, Erika, you have to stop apparating from my radiators.
9:24
[Comment From Steff]
LOL @ Erika
9:24
[Comment From kissmyapocalypse]
LOL Erika = Smokey
9:24
[Comment From JOpinionated]
where is Young Red? We saw her in 1974, but not in 1977
9:24
Ryan McGee: JO=I assume long gone by then.
9:24
Diana: Wherever Annie is perhaps
9:24
Erika: I'm just happy to know that Daniel Faraday was in Ann Arbor. Even though I know he's not real, it somehow excites me.
9:25
Ryan McGee: You went on campus looking for him, didn't you?
9:25
[Comment From outbck844]
So is the seen with the fdw before or after he gets off the sub
9:25
Ryan McGee: outb=my impression is after.
9:25
Erika: Ryan -- correct... Daniel couldn't have been at the Orchid before "now" (1977) because at the beginning of that episode we saw Miles as a baby... just like he is now (1977).
9:25
[Comment From CuInAnotherLifeBrother]
Any thoughts to why Faraday was crying when we first seen him?
9:25
Ryan McGee: CUIN--That's one of my personal favorite questions.
9:26
Erika: Because his subconscious is remembering all of the craziness of time travel... ?
9:26
Diana: Do you think he had a memory similar to the one that Desmond had from his time in the hatch?
9:26
Ryan McGee: Agreed, Erika. He remembers something.
9:26
[Comment From Jenette]
Maybe when he saw the crash it was happening again. Like a vicious circle and he knew he had to do it all over again
9:26
[Comment From JimD]
We should find out this coming episode. It tells more about Daniel.
9:27
[Comment From RoseRed2318]
so had jack been flying all over the place...to try and reunite with his father?
9:28
Ryan McGee: The Jack/Christian meeting will be EPIC. Luke and Anakin stuff, there.
9:28
[Comment From cat]
the next episode should be great. Carleton said it was his 2nd favorite of the season, just behind jeremy bentham
9:28
[Comment From Jana]
I hate seeing Ben kill Locke all over again.
9:28
Erika: No, I think Jack was flying all over just to crash again and get back to the Island because he was guilt-ridden.
9:29
Diana: Jana -- agreed. It makes Ben harder to watch as a character.
9:29
Erika: Cat - interesting... nothing like raising expectations, huh?
9:29
Ryan McGee: (I love how all the comments stopped coming in when the Locke/Ben scene from "Bentham" showed up on the TV. If that doesn't tell you something about the power of that scene nothing will.)
9:29
[Comment From JOpinionated]
I think Jacob will be involved in that future moment when Jack and Christian reunite...the father, the son and the holy ghost indeed
9:29
Erika: JO - LOVE IT!
9:29
Ryan McGee: Yea, part of my Cabin Christian theory is that CC does NOT speak for Jacob. That in fact CC is holding him hostage.
9:29
[Comment From Steff]
No kidding.... I hated watching that scene again!
9:29
[Comment From RoseRed2318]
@ jo - awesome!
9:29
[Comment From kissmyapocalypse]
omg Jo I hope you're right, I can't wait for that
9:29
Diana: Jo - that is a GREAT theory.
9:29
Erika: To be honest, I actually NEVER thought about Jack and Zombie Dad/Christian ever coming face to face again. But you're right, it HAS to happen.
9:30
Ryan McGee: If Kate came back for Claire, Jack came back for Christian.
9:30
Erika: Ryan - I agree that Christian is probably not on Jacob's side.
9:30
Diana: I actually thought that Hurley's Empire script made sense with Jack/Christian as Luke/Vader
9:31
Ryan McGee: Also, can I just say how annoyed I was at Kate's devolvement last week? Her "I'm going back for Claire" elevated her to epic awesomeness in my book. And then she goes back to acting like a doofus the next weeks.
9:31
Diana: when Ryan was writing the blog entry
9:31
[Comment From Galen]
@Erika definitely needs to happen. Jack has to stop running away from his visions. Christian is trying to tell him something...
9:31
[Comment From Roland]
Christian is evil. Why else would he suggets to Claire that he could/should murder Carole?
9:31
[Comment From outbck844]
E..who is in Jacobs corner?
9:31
[Comment From Stacy]
Richard
9:32
Erika: Hmm... I think that Locke may be in Jacob's corner... since he heard him cry, "Heeellllppp meeee....."
9:32
Ryan McGee: Do we think Richard lied to Charled about Jacob willing Ben to live?
9:32
Ryan McGee: Charles, even.
9:32
[Comment From Stacy]
I think he lied just to shut Widmore up
9:33
Erika: Ryan - Possibly. I think he knew it was the only thing that would get Widmore to stop pestering him, dropping the J-bomb.
9:33
Ryan McGee: Yea, Erika, would love to hear your take on this: was Charles a leader of the Others in the same way that Ben was?
9:33
[Comment From Upuaut]
I don't think that Richard lies about anything.
9:33
[Comment From JimD]
I think Richard lied about that.
9:33
[Comment From triangulatedsignal]
yea i think he may have lied
9:33
[Comment From BenIsAwesome]
Isn't is Nestor Carbonell aka Richard Alpert narrating the recap?
9:33
[Comment From BrandonB]
I think he was lying about Jacob having said it, but I think he deduced from his encounters with Ben that it was the island's will.
9:33
[Comment From Roland]
Jacob is not a Good Guy either - the ppl on his List - Mikhail, Danny etc were Haters
9:34
[Comment From JimD]
I'm in California. Is tonight's show worth watching?
9:34
[Comment From Dreyesbo]
Just a note...I get chills every time I watch the "We have to go back" scene
9:34
Erika: Technically, yes, I think they were both leaders... but I think Charles led with less compassion and that people didn't feel as strong of a loyalty to him.
9:34
[Comment From Don]
The island wont let Charles die remember..
9:34
Ryan McGee: He won't let Ben kill him. Not sure he's invulnerable.
9:34
[Comment From kate]
What scene makes you laugh the most?
9:35
Ryan McGee: Good question, Kate. Even though it was paradox heavy, the recent Hurley/Miles scene about time travel slew me.
9:35
Erika: I'm not sure if I really laughed... but the scene that's given me the greatest joy/happiness was the guys doing donuts in the Dharma van.
9:35
Ryan McGee: And Hurley sharing a candy bar with Ben was hysterical.
9:35
Diana: My favorite laugh moment's involve Michael Emerson's delivery. "I taped over the game" instantly comes to mind.
9:36
Erika: A lot of Sawyer's one-liners have made me giggle over the years, that's for sure.
9:36
[Comment From Jen B]
I LOVED when Sawyer referred to Richard as the guy with the eyeliner. Classic shout-out to us fans!

9:40
Erika: Duh, Locke is #1
9:40
[Comment From Upuaut]

9:40
[Comment From Justin]
I dont think the show can afford to lose anymore original characters

9:42
Erika: JimD - Well... in my earliest recaps I absolutely HATED Kate. I actually called myself the Conductor of the Kate Hate Train. I even had a shirt made that said "I heart Locke" on the front and "I hate Kate" on the back. But since Season Four she has not bugged me as much.
9:42
[Comment From Nick]
Juliet!??! Disappointing!

[Comment From Don]
Fave 5 = John, Ben, James, Hurley, Sayid
9:42

9:42

[Comment From Chris G.]
My fab 5 are: Locke, Jack, Hurley, Sayid and Christian Sheppard
9:44
[Comment From JimD]
@Erika - Why do you think so many people hate kate so much?
9:44
Ryan McGee: Because you can't so much as go to the bathroom without her coming with you?
9:44
Erika: I think the Kate Hate stems from seasons one and two... she was definitely much more annoying then... just always wanting to tag along. And a lot of us do NOT care about the love triangle, which got old quickly.
9:44
[Comment From Nancy]
Because all she did was cry and say Jack for two years...
9:45
Erika: That's why I really hope they do not resurrect the love quadrangle.
9:45
Erika: The show is stronger without it.
9:45
Ryan McGee: Erika: is the quadrangle over, do you think? I remember you writing pretty much the same take as me, but I am hazy.
9:45
Diana: Because for someone who eluded the government for so long, she makes really stupid on-island decisions
9:45
[Comment From JOpinionated]
Erika - do you like Juliet & Sawyer together?
9:45
[Comment From Margie]
I agree, the quadrangle is stupid - and it seems to me the writers are not going in that direction - I was SO pleased about that
9:46
Erika: Ryan - Well, I want it to be over and I did write that I thought it was... but I think it's really not. : (
9:46
Ryan McGee: I am personally hoping it's over. Seems like it is. The scene in which Sawyer convinces Juliet to stay on the Island with him to have his back is my #1 scene of the season.
9:46
[Comment From Jen B]
I was quite pleased this season to see a sweeter, loving Sawyer, who had actual repsonsibility (Head of Security) and what seemed like a solid relationship with Juliet. Then Kate comes back and throws a wrench into it!
9:46
[Comment From lizziebelle]
I live Sawyer & Juliet together
9:46
[Comment From BenIsAwesome]
bottom 5: Locke 1.0, Hurley, Ana Lucia, Charlotte, Shannon
9:46
[Comment From sherylm]
I actually liked Kate at the beginning but not since the Jack/Sawyer thing...but her giving back Aaron to his grandma put up in my book, even though I do NOT believe she came back to find Claire
9:46
Erika: JO - Yes, I really do like Sawyer and Juliet together. Doesn't seem quite as natural as Kate and Sawyer did, but they both are undeniably happy. No drama! (Until Kate showed up again.)
9:47
[Comment From Margie]
I was glad both Sawyer & Juliette more a less took a stand when faceing their old flames... and didn't play fliting games
9:47
[Comment From Jennie]
I love Juliet and Sawyer together. Suprisingly, they seem to be a good match.
9:47
[Comment From Don]
locke will get a flashback, because we haven't seen him meet eloise hawking, my guess is that she shared some special secrets with him. i.e - where smokey is
9:47
Ryan McGee: But...I don't think he ever met her, Don. It's not that they didn't show it. It didn't happen. Unless I'm wrong and someone can correct me on this...
9:47
Erika: Agreed with Ryan. Locke never met Eloise.
9:48
[Comment From JOpinionated]
Kate had 100 days w/Sawer; Juliet has had 3 years. It works for me.
9:48
Erika: Locke told Ben that he still needed to find her... right before Ben strangled him. D'oh!
9:48
Ryan McGee: JO---awesome point. It's just that we as viewers had 3 years with kate/sawyer. Heh.
9:48

fav scene: When Richard was helping Locke with his leg (that Ethan shot) and telling him very clearly what he needed to do - for the first time someone was being a bit tender and CLEAR about telling Locke what needed to happen. We hadn't seen it until then - and Richard seemed most human at that moment

Ryan McGee: I love that almost no one has the same scene. Awesome.
9:50
Erika: I did like seeing the statue oh-so-briefly, but I agree with Galen... Sawyer digging frantically at the rope KILLED ME.

[Comment From tuscaloosakelli]
four toed statue, definitely.

Oh yeah I forgot about Montand's arm!
9:51
[Comment From Brian-Cincinnati]
Can someone discuss ther Ben killing Locke scene? What did Ben think Locke knew? I know they discussed it in Dead is Dead...but I'm still confused a bit
9:51
Ryan McGee: Join the club, Brian. I mentioned this a bit ago, but knowing so little about Eloise really hampers good theorizing. We can guess in a dozen different directions, but they all feel equally plausible to me now.
9:52
[Comment From JOpinionated]
oh...I really like how Ghost Alex scared the crap out of dear old dad
9:52
[Comment From outbck844]
I already forgot some of these, great stuff
9:52
[Comment From tish]
it wouldn't be lost if you weren't confused
9:52
Erika: Ben just wanted any info out of Locke before he killed him... he got the info that Jin is still alive (plus the ring to bribe Sun with) and found out that Locke had been told to go to Eloise. After that, he needed him for nothing and felt that Locke was supposed to die in order to be able to return to the Island (or so Ben said/lied...)
9:52
Erika: I'm not sure we'll ever know if Ben truly thought Locke would come back to life.
9:52
Erika: On one hand, he said it had never been done before...
9:53
Erika: but on the other... then why bring him back in a coffin?
9:53
Ryan McGee: But why does Hawking's name prompt Ben to action? I guess that's the big question.
9:53
[Comment From RoseRed2318]
YAY!!! kick his ass, desmond
9:53
[Comment From Margie]
Do you think Ben was telling the truth when he told Sun that seing Locke alive scared the hell out of him?
9:53
Erika: Since Ben didn't know about Christian Shephard, it's not like he was trying to replicate Christian in a coffin with Locke's dead body.
9:53
Erika: Margie - I can't tell... he's such a good liar!
9:53
Ryan McGee: According to the official podcast, Margie: yes. That we should believe.
9:54
[Comment From Anntics]
Is Kate pregnant with Karl do you think? Why else did she sleep with Jack?
9:54
Ryan McGee: Because she was sad?
9:54
[Comment From outbck844]
I don't think ben thought he would come back to life
9:54
[Comment From Galen]
@Ryan I think he is ready to kill Locke before he mentions Hawking. It's the info about Jin that Ben really cares about.

[Comment From Don]
how did locke hear about eloise?
9:54
Erika: Hi Chris G - Thanks!
9:54
Ryan McGee: Christian told Locke to find her.
9:54
Erika: Don - Christian told me.
9:54
[Comment From MikemaMather]
@Erika - isn't that the only way a regular civilian can bring a body ... for ceremonial burial.
9:55
Erika: Oops, not ME. He told Locke (and me)
9:55
[Comment From JOpinionated]
Anntics - I agree that Kate is pregnant
9:55
[Comment From outbck844]

9:55
[Comment From Don]
i think kate will be pregnant for sure
9:55
Erika: MikemaMather - Hmm, not sure if I get your question... are you saying that Ben wanted to bury Locke on the Island?
9:56
[Comment From MikemaMather]
Lupidis' comment "we are not going to Guam mare we ..." that was a pretty solid moment as well
9:56
[Comment From Jenette]
We still don't know how Hurley got on that plane. With the guitar case!
9:56
Ryan McGee: I think we can just assume Charlie put him on there. Not sure they have to show that, given his history with Charlie off-Island.
9:56
Erika: I SO hope Kate is NOT pregnant. Seriously, and no disrespect to pregnant women, but do we really want to see Kate waddling around the Island? No! She is meant to run around and climb trees and try to be cool like the guys.
9:56
[Comment From Jennie]
But if she is pregnant, I don't think it's with Karl
9:57
Ryan McGee: Erika--with you on that that.
9:57
[Comment From Galen]
Libby gave Hurley the guitar case. She would be the only one that could get Hurley to go back.
9:57
Expand
9:57
Erika: Blech!
9:58
Erika: Are we on Worst Characters Ever now?
9:58
Ryan McGee: I hope that's a reaction to her character, not her face!
9:58
[Comment From JOpinionated]
honestly, what is left for Kate to do? she didn't go back for Claire. perhaps if she's preggers her kid will be someone we've already met (like Karl, but not sold on him)
9:58
[Comment From Margie]
I agree - get Illana ouitta here!
9:58
Erika: Yes, her character. : )
9:58
Diana: Seriously, when I first saw Ilana, I was like "Ack! Ana Lucia's alive!"
9:58
Erika: Diana - Amen.
9:58
[Comment From MikemaMather]
can we all agree that Caesar was the lamest character ever ... like the writers had this idea, and were like ... bah! f' it ... we messed up ... killing her
9:58
Erika: JO - Well, if they ever get back to the present, then maybe Kate will attempt to find Claire... ?
9:59
Ryan McGee: Yea, his whole character was...Arzt-esque.
9:59
[Comment From Anntics]
I hate that chick.... and her hooker boots
9:59
[Comment From Margie]
I don't care abut looks, I don't like her character (Ilanna)
9:59
[Comment From kissmyapocalypse]
JO - what makes you think she didn't really go back for claire?
9:59
[Comment From JimD]
@Erika - What's wrong with Ana Lucia?
9:59
Diana: Mike -- hahahaha. It was as if Darlton went "Oops! Our bad!"
9:59
Erika: MikemaMather - I really hope we get to see more Caesar in a flashback... or else it was pretty lame to bring in such a great actor for that role.
9:59
[Comment From Jen B]
I can't believe Sayid fell for her...after his experience with Elsa!
9:59
[Comment From Margie]
How come Sayid fell for that trick Ilana pulled at the bar - that was POOR writing I thought
9:59
[Comment From Galen]
Whoa! Do not understand the Hostility towards Ilana.
9:59
[Comment From Roland]
Since Boba Fett was eaten by the Sarlacc, maybe Ilana's Story will be short and, um sweet
9:59
[Comment From Nick]
I think the death of Caesar was cool - came as a surprise, keeps us on our toes regarding the new characters.
9:59
[Comment From Gibb]
NO - Artz was good for some laughs at least!
10:00
[Comment From Anntics]
If you are talking about nasty characters.... what about nasty Dharma wife (Ethans mommy)
10:00
[Comment From Galen]
@Mike Maybe Caesar isn't dead.
10:00
[Comment From Matthew]
I'll forever be suspicious of anyone who Sayid sleeps with.
10:00
[Comment From Margie]
Yes, Jenn B! Sayid is far too sophisticated to fall for that
10:00
[Comment From JimD]
Boba Fett survived the Sarlacc.
10:00
Ryan McGee: Jim: in your fanfic, maybe.
10:00
[Comment From JOpinionated]
I openly disdain Kate (sorry Skaters) and I've never truly believe that she did anything for anyone besides herself. That is why I don't think she went back for Claire.
10:00
[Comment From Stacy]
I think Ethan's mom is a Hostile
10:00
Erika: JimD - Ana Lucia was a character that I couldn't stand because I couldn't separate fiction from reality. I just don't like Michelle Rodriguez because of all of her real-life antics with DUIs and getting into fights and whatnot... she has a pretty poor attitude about her celebrity status. (That's what I get for reading waaaay too much gossip.)
10:00
Ryan McGee: Stacy--me likey.
10:01
[Comment From RoseRed2318]
why isn't anyone bothered by jack, kate and hurley being in 1977???
10:01
Ryan McGee: Because the show let its freak flag fly, and those remaining just went along for the ride. It's weird to me how it's NOT weird they are in the past.
10:01
[Comment From Margie]
Ethan's mom a hostile? SAY MORE!
10:02
[Comment From Lew]
will the transcript for this be on darkufo or posted anyplace?
10:02
Erika: Stacy - Yes, Amy is definitely a Hostile and she sucks even more than Ilana!
10:02
Ryan McGee: Lew: this transcript will stay right here, but if someone wants to transcribe it, go for it! And get some ice for your wrists.
10:02
[Comment From JimD]
@Ryan -- Not my fanfic....in the Expanded Universe.
10:02
[Comment From JOpinionated]
I liked Ana Lucia because she was the only survivor to be truly pissed off that they were marooned on a scary island.
10:02
[Comment From Anntics]
She must be a hostile or have some other agenda. I do also think however that the others do something with dead bodies..... take them to the temple and turn them into others...
10:02
[Comment From Galen]
@Stacey I totally agree. She is a freaking spy!
10:02
[Comment From Matthew]
Well, I am bothered why Sun is NOT in 1977!
10:02
Erika: And I agree with Ryan - I am pretty much not bothered by ANYTHING on the show anymore... I question almost nothing crazy that happens.
10:02
[Comment From kissmyapocalypse]

oh this ABC relationship vote made the lamest episode lamer
10:03
[Comment From Margie]
Amy does seem evil,... but... how would this work?
10:03
[Comment From Brian-Cincinnati]
bad news E: ABC is sponsoring a "best couple scene" tournament on abc.com
10:03
[Comment From JimD]
Michelle = Amy... :-)
10:03
[Comment From Matthew]
So, you think Amy is a Hostile that infiltrated the Dharma initiative? I don't know how that could have happened.
10:03
Ryan McGee: OK, everyone's pretty keen on Amy: Erika, thoughts?
10:04
10:04
[Comment From Anntics]
Amy.. thats her name. I blocked her out. Go back to your Noxema commercial because you suck.
10:04
[Comment From Jenette]
Well I have to go. Thanks for the chat guys! Look forward to next week's Lost and your reviews!! Namasta!!
10:04
[Comment From Denise]
This episode was supposed to be from a 'different' perspective...there was nothing different! I feel robbed! If it wasn't for this chat I would be so disappointed right now.
10:04
[Comment From Impheatus]
Maybe Amy became a hostile AFTER she arrived to the island.
10:04
Erika: I think it would've been very easy for Amy to infiltrate Dharma...
10:05
Erika: Um, look at how Jack, Kate and Hurley did it... AND Sawyer and the rest!
10:05
Ryan McGee: Yup, after all, Jack Kate and Hurley did.
10:05
Erika: Great minds..
10:05
Ryan McGee: Jinx!
10:05
Diana: @ Erika -- true. If Sawyer and Co. got in so easily....
10:05
Ryan McGee: Get out of my head. And my radiator.
10:05
Erika: And now we know that Ben and Ethan were probably living double lives for a while there, too.
10:05
[Comment From JimD]
Kate, Jack and Hurley had Sawyer's and Juliete's help.
10:05
Ryan McGee: Yea, Ben and Ethan, moonlighting as killers of French women.
10:06
Erika: But all it took for Sawyer and his bunch was some smooth talking.
10:06
Diana: Hippies are really gullible.
10:06
Erika: Amy just needed Horace to fall for her.
10:06
[Comment From Impheatus]
@JimD: But who they got help from?
10:06
[Comment From Jennie]
I think amy is a hostile and that's why she knew Sayid wasn't one and was so insistent that they must kill him.
10:06
Erika: Let's face it, Horace was pretty desperate.
10:06
[Comment From Julia]
I think she infiltrated and there was more to the first scene in which we met her..
10:06
Erika: He's not exactly "a looker."
10:06
Ryan McGee: Math is hot!
10:06
[Comment From JOpinionated]
that picnic w/her first hubby Paul was a set up!
10:06
[Comment From Anntics]
Who thinks Horace is an incometant leader.... me.
10:07
Diana: My heart belongs to Radzinsky.....
10:07
Ryan McGee: Anntics: I'm more confuses as to why the DeGroots aren't running things on site. Are they monitoring from afar...or don't even exist?
10:07
[Comment From RoseRed2318]
i think amy is a plot device =)
10:07
[Comment From bevans]
i think she set van on fire
10:07
[Comment From Margie]
Horace is not a good leader, either
10:07
[Comment From JimD]
I was disappointed how Ben got Alex.
10:07
Erika: Ryan - I think maybe the DeGroots just arrived?
10:07
[Comment From Anntics]
He doesent seem to be especially bright.... but then again "Darryls brother Daryl" made it into Dharma right?
10:07
Erika: Along with Daniel?
10:07
[Comment From sherylm]
Radzinsky is definitely the most annoying character yet!
10:07
Erika: Or at least I am HOPING the DeGroots arrived.
10:08
Erika: They were the ultimate hippies.
10:08
Erika: Sherylm - I agree, can't stand Radzinsky.
10:08
Ryan McGee: Paul Giammatti's stunt double isn't the most annoying character yet, but he's up there. Least he has a mythos-rich background.
10:08
[Comment From BrandonB]
I think the DeGroots are in Ann Arbor, which would explain why it's so important.
10:08
[Comment From Matthew]
I agree. The Sub just came from Ann Arbor, where The Degroots are from.
10:08
[Comment From RoseRed2318]
radzinsky = 1977 versino fo frogurt
10:08
Erika: I do hope we get to see some of Radzinsky's time with Kelvin in the hatch, though.
10:08
Ryan McGee: OK, gonna wrap things up in a bit here, get your final questions in!
10:09
[Comment From outbck844]
Out guys, great job
10:09
[Comment From Impheatus]
Radzinsky is annoying yes, but it's kinda cool to this the guy that painted the wall hatc paint.
10:09
[Comment From Roland]
How come one day Radz is building his Model - and the next day, the job-site is in full swing?
10:09
Diana: Fastest. Architect. Ever.
10:09
Erika: Roland - I think the model had probably been built for a while.
10:09
Ryan McGee: Roland---gonna assume we just need to roll with this. or that the dome was a late addition to the fundamental design.
10:09
[Comment From Denise]
How come the sub has no problem finding the island and WHO is piloting the sub?
10:09
[Comment From JOpinionated]
I don't think the sub actually comes from where they say, i.e. 'outside of Portland'
10:10
Erika: I think the sub had an easier time before the 815 crash.
10:10
Erika: Afterwards, not so much.
10:10
Ryan McGee: there used to be a sonar to ping the sub. guess they followed the ping to whereever the island was that day/week/month
10:10
[Comment From sherylm]
How did the sub come from Ann Arbor, which is not exactly connected to the Pacific Ocean. Didn't the sub go to Tahiti and maybe Portland?
10:10
Ryan McGee: sheryl=via the mississippi river. natch.
10:11
Erika: I bet the Ann Arbor peeps flew to Tahiti or wherever else and took the sub fromthere.
10:11
[Comment From Galen]
Thanks for the live chatting. My eyes and fingers are tired now.
10:11
[Comment From Galen]
He was making the model after the fact. He says they are already building it.
10:11
Erika: Thanks for joining, Galen!
10:11
[Comment From Impheatus]
How DI could build the Swan in Hostile territory?
10:11
Ryan McGee: Verrrrry carefully.
10:11
Erika: But not so quietly...
10:11
[Comment From Margie]
Question for Erika: is Terry better looking in real life than he is on the show? Does he smell good? [vbg]
10:12
Erika: Margie - Yes, he is a doll. But the poor man had on SO MUCH MAKEUP in ninety-degree heat that I felt awful for him.
10:12
Erika: I couldn't breathe, therefore I couldn't smell. : )
10:12
Ryan McGee: And on THAT note, we'll wrap up tonight's chat. Thanks to everyone for joining in, and thanks above all to Erika for agreeing to join us tonight!

I may have missed something, but where are the reviews for some like it Hoth? Will you post it next Monday?

Thanks.

Nikki -

Because I was traveling last weekend and because of the repeat tonight, I'm taking my time with the Hoth post... should be up either this Friday or next Tuesday (I'm traveling again this weekend, too...)

Hi Erika,

I would like to say thanks for doing the live chat last night. Great fun! I love to hear what other people's thoughts are, especially bloggers like yourself and Jo.

Take care

Paul

A question for anyone that watched the recap episode, did they show anything we didn't already know? I meant to tape it but technology foiled my plans!
Thanks!

Kristin,
Nothing special, I was dissapoitned. If you read Erika posts, then you dont need to watch that recap. It's more a recap since season 5, no spoilers, nothing impressive.
